The Five Steps

1. Pick a lab

Open the lab catalog. Easy labs walk you through each step with hints; harder ones give you the goal and expect you to figure out the rest. Filter by difficulty if you're unsure where to start.

2. Solve the objectives

Each lab has a set of objectives. You read the brief, do the work (recon, exploitation, whatever the lab calls for), and submit a flag for each one. The objectives are designed so what you learn in one carries over to the next.

3. Spin up your own box

Once you're comfortable with the labs, you can launch a dedicated Linux box of your own. You get full root access, and you can practice both offensive and defensive techniques on a real system. To reach the box you'll need to connect via OpenVPN; the VPN setup guide has the steps for every major OS.

4. (Optional) Take on a real opponent

When you're ready, the PvP arena pits you against another operator on real boxes. Both sides defend, both sides attack. This isn't a tutorial; it's live practice against someone who is also trying to win. Skip it as long as you like — most of the platform doesn't require it.

5. Track your progress

Solved labs are recorded against your account, with points and a rank that show how you're progressing. You can come back to a lab to retry it, or jump to the next path. Nothing is timed; nothing expires.
